about

'Aura' evokes the many different sensory symptoms of a migraine aura, and the disorientating otherworldliness that often accompanies it. The track begins in an eerie and unsettling manner and gradually rises to a disturbing climax at the end.

The organic sounds of oboe, saxophone, violin and guitar (mostly taken from the opening track Prodrome) are taken through ever more extreme processing, and combined with evocative synth sounds.

This track contains only the music. In the full programme, the migraine sufferers' speech has also been manipulated and processed by Alice Trueman.

To hear the aura music combined with the first-hand experiences of migraineurs, you can listen to the full programme here: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000678d
